A Periwinkle Week in Review June 03 2018, 107 Comments
The last week of May brought lots of new adventures to Periwinkle.
A Girl Scout Troop met here this week to wrap boxes, design flyers and promote their service project. They hope to aid pets in shelters both by collecting donated toys, supplies and food and by encouraging adoption through education.
With the warm summer weather and the end of the school year arriving, it was time to get beach ready! Our sand and water toys are all out and ready for warm weather fun. All our favorite characters from years past have returned- like Clicker Crab and Fin the Shark, with two new buddies! Sand pails with Trixie and Giddy Buggy are now available, too!
It might be more than 6 months away, but Christmas is coming! Periwinkle received boxes and boxes of festive merchandise this week and we're all busy opening and getting it ready for the holidays. Lots of cute wintery fun-- like this little miniature glass penguin all ready for chilly days in his scarf.
It's not all summer toys and Christmas arriving, though. We receive amazing new finds every day. Look at these fabulous rings! Sparkly and much fancier than their $2.95 price.
Periwinklians know there is always something to celebrate. This week, Donut Day was a sweet celebration! Although, really, every day should be donut day.
Friday also started Glendora Village's Friday Night Twilight for the summer! Each Friday from 6-8 pm the Village hosts a theme party that stretches for blocks and features family fun in the plaza. We started out with a bubble party attended by princesses and superheroes. With the lovely weather and bubbles everywhere, it made for a delightful night. Our bubble hurricane machine kept our doorway filled with bubbles all night and thanks to two amazing friends we had bubble wands to give out to every visitor.
Saturday we finished our week with a celebration of National Drawing Day. We rolled out the drawing paper and invited every artist of every age to add to our fun. By the day we had met so many talented people, like this young artist, and rolled up 6 feet of brightly layered drawings.
This week we look forward to seven more days of celebrations, lots of new products, a Ukulele Sing Along Friday Night Twilight and our first ever Melissa and Doug Toy Tester Experience. Hope to see you in the shop.
